About Larissa Sawicki

Larissa at Kidstock2010, an official Let's Move Educational Event.

Larissa Sawicki is a passionate public health activist who dedicates her time and efforts toward teaching people how to regain wellness and combat illness. She is a motivational speaker who enthusiastically encourages a holistic approach toward health. Larissa believes that truly natural healing for the body as well as the mind and spirit can be reached through knowledge and practice of healing art. Healing art involves the interaction and manipulation of body systems using alternative, traditional and natural means or methods. Larissa holds Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Social Studies and a Diploma in Medical Office Administration. Larissa also spent time professionally teaching. After completion of philosophy/cognitive science coursework through Yale University and being certified as a trainer in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Larissa dedicates much energy to counseling people on the interrelatedness of the mind and the body, the effects of unconscious stress on health, and the means to overcome emotional distress that causes physical harm. Most recently, Larissa successfully completed the LevelI-A Practitioner Training in the newest principles and practices of the FasterEFT (Faster Emotionally Focused Transformation) with Robert G. Smith and Skills to Changes Institute, Inc. She believes that FasterEFT is a unique method to release stress, restrictive beliefs and emotional issues to experience true emotional freedom, peace and well-being. She is the author of "The Mystery of IBS and my path to Freedom" and "Love Never Hurts."

The letter from First Lady Michelle Obama

Larissa Sawicki designed a flyer entitled, "Childhood Obesity: Sizeable Program," which she distributed at Kidstock2010. The flyer serves to educate the public about childhood obesity and its causes, and suggests ways to prevent it. "Many overweight children suffer emotionally as well as physically, so I was happy to volunteer in the hope that Kidstock2010 could make a difference in their lives," she states. A letter received from Michelle Obama inspired Larissa to create a children’s book designed to help our youngest generation develop healthy habits. As a health educator and activist, she targeted the roots of obesity in her book "What made Danny sick?" By doing so she hoped to contribute to First Lady Obama’s Let’s Move program, her nationwide anti-obesity call-to-action.

Words of Encouragement

I never expected to be complimented on my looks at my age. I was not always the healthy, happy, and fit person that I am today. Most of us grew up in an environment where healthy living was not a priority. Like most of us, I was disgusted with my sagging belly and out of shape figure. As recently as ten years ago, I was a size 14 and suffered from a variety of health problems and depression. Awakening from this state of living helped me to free myself from self-imprisonment caused largely by a lack of knowledge. Now I easily fit into size 6 clothes. I did not starve or pressure myself with excessive physical exercise, but rather I learned how to be fit and happy.

Emboldened by my own experience of health transformation, I decided to devote my life to exploring and sharing the truths about sources of illnesses, nutrition, health and healing. I have some real answers for life-long health. Over the last few years, I've devoted an enormous amount of time studying illness vs. health. I've discovered that the vast majority of all illnesses can be easily prevented and even cured without drugs or surgery.

Never underestimate your level of intelligence or ability to understand more than you currently know. With the knowledge you obtain, you have a greater chance of being aware of how the environment, life’s experiences, feelings, patterns of thinking and habits contribute to your overall health and happiness, or lack of it. Do not undervalue the self-healing and self-regulating abilities of your organism to correct imperfections that you have developed while engaging in an unhealthy lifestyle. Natural body transformation can be achieved easily.

Realigning your past experiences by integrating desirable changes into your current life is one way to express your unique spirit. Knowledge of self is the path to freedom, and a powerful antidote for good health and emotional well being that does not require a prescription or a magic pill. Health is a result of action, not luck. Improved physical appearance, a harmonious life and longevity are the results of self-improvement through knowledge and self-discovery.
